went to see the nwe rmit building 80 today, the building i would be in if i hadnt quit business.
this view makes it alot better than it was in person. it was fine, function wise, plenty of escalators, stairs and lifts, pretty clear directions to everything. everything you need (except a library)
but the design, to me looked a bit confused. from the outside, the triangle window shades are enough of a feature… putting the giant jagged ‘blast holes’ as windows is a bit tacky. i feel like the designers were over excited and tried to shove alot into one space.
the rooms all have massive windows so people in the hallways are always peering in at lectures/ tutes. alot of different shapes and very loud colours. each floor had a vague sort of theme but they were all very bright and plastic looking.
there are little study nooks every where though, that was fantastic.
my friend took me to one of her tute rooms because shes pretty upset by the layout of this particular room and i totally agree… it had oval tables, like really stretched out ovals, so the person sitting on/ near the end has a horrible cramped amount of space. so theres a bunch of these awkward tables going diagonally across the room, sort of facing the tutors desk on one side of the room, then theres a whiteboard strangely shoved into the opposite corner. just bizarre. so theyre all sitting on an angle sort of facing the tutor and have to completely twist the other way to see the board. which isnt centred its in the corner? weird.
anyway yes! worth going to have a look if you get a chance
